Zafi Beverages & Technologies was established in Chicago, Illinois through its parent company, Advance International Marketing, in 1986. Zafi's Founder and President, Dr. Zafar A. Bokhari, also serves as a Professor of Marketing and International Business at Chicago State University. His “Action Research” has developed many businesses globally. Dr. Zafar A. Bokhari has delivered presentations and lectures on Process Technology across four continents while representing the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Department of Commerce as a business delegate on Trade & Investment Missions to Asia, Africa, Central and Latin America, and the Commonwealth of Independent States. 

Zafi Beverages & Technologies has evolved in both function and scope. Zafi's inception as a beverage company started in 2004 with the launch of Zafi Premium Energy Drinks produced in the U.S. by Pepsi-Co bottling. Zafi Pumped and Zafi Ultra Light were developed as the first ever "non-carbonated healthy energy drink" on the market.  It was low-carb, low-calorie, non-carbonated, and full of vitamins and minerals, which made it uniquely different from its competitors. The energy drinks were marketed in stores across the U.S. including Costco, Jewel-Osco, and Sunset Foods. 

From its beverage launch, Dr. Zafar Bokhari's action research then led the company to develop water and liquid based filling lines for small, medium, and large-scale businesses to produce, package, and sell your own manufactured products. His action research focuses on "Third World Economic Development & Capacity Building" by promoting the creation of various basic human-needs products through Zafi's filling line equipment. In addition to the filling line equipment, Zafi also offers customized energy biscuits made from the highest quality ingredients, and flavors and concentrates for water, beverages, dairy, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products.

For research and development, Zafi partners with universities worldwide, specifically with their College's of Agriculture, Business, Engineering, and Medicine. By partnering with universities, we go onto empower local entrepreneurs to manage their own filling lines and sell their own products to their communities and beyond. Zafi Beverages also offers certificate courses in Business Administration to enrich the local entrepreneur for optimized business success.
